Vinyl, CDs and a brilliant DJ

If I was going to be a DJ, I would almost certainly want to be Gilles Peterson, his knowledge and love of music is incredible.

Peterson is a great proponent of vinyl as oppossed to CD's and MP3s. This is somwthing I really admire, using the old and tried and tested medium, which not only delivers an unmatched quality of music, but also a nostaligia which is unbeatable.

I've grown up in a CD generation and CD is definitely my favourite medium, but I remain incredibly jealous of Gilles' brownswood basement, which is filled to the brim with vinyl, vinyl and more vinyl.

Gilles' excuse for not liking CDs is that they are too hard to put away, annoying and he always loses them, despite the fact that he uses CD's when he DJ's, this is a bit of a stupid excuse. Of course we'll let him off if he continues to introduce us to great new music.

Check this video out, the music is kick arse aswell:

Tune in next week for more quality music from Escape From the Pigeon Hole, every Saturday 4-5pm www.xpressradio.co.uk
