Hello there
I'm about to jump on a minibus and head into deepest darkest Wales but thought I should get this up first.
Do have a listen to this amazing Camille album- Le Fil.

It's beautiful and very creative. Le Fil means The Thread and a sung note runs right through the album. Most of the sounds, including the percussion, are built up from layers of her voice and her French lyrics fly over the top. Fantastic sound.

Here's the tracklisting from the 24th:
1. Toumani Diabate- Toumani
2. Emiliana Torrini- Tuna Fish
3. The Black Keys- Strange Times
4. Mint Royale (feat. Lauren Laverne)- Don't Falter

Aim & The Herbaliser playing in Cardiff!

This is big news.

Absolutely legendary music creators and DJs Aim and the Herbaliser are taking to the stage on the 4th March in Cardiff. That would be quite a starting line up at a decent festival never mind our little Glam nightclub! It's thanks to those guys at Cassette Quality who seem to be cropping up more and more. They brought us Ugly Duckling in January and DJ Yoda in February so they know what they're doing!
This could be the best yet though, if you're in the area, make it.
To prove it was just meant to be, I found this Aim EP where he is combining our pigeon and astronaut themes.
Excellent work.
See you there
Jonny

Return of the Welsh Kiddy

Last night made it two weeks in a row in the same slot, incredible stuff. Should mean we're staying there as well so Tuesday 11-12something is official.
Last night G and I were joined once again by the delightful company of Lloyd 'who's the welsh kiddy?' Griffiths, all the way from Curly Joe and Gingers Countdown Conundrums. We were enjoying it way too much to stop yesterday so we kept going til 1, meaning we got a fat load of great music in:

1. Roots Manuva- Dreamy Days
2. Plans & Apologies- Birthday (For G's elderly sister)
3. Zero 7- Warm Sound
4. Natural Self- Shake Down
5. Jose James- Blackeyed Susan
6. Belleruche- Anything You Want (Not That)

7. The Black Keys- So He Won't Break
8. Mr Confuse- Immovel
9. C-Drill, Juice & Mr Rhed- Mbaogu
10. The Go! Team- Bottle Rocket
11. The Bamboos- Can't Help Myself
12. Feist (left)- My Moon My Man (Boyz Noize Remix)
13. Unforscene- This is London
14. Wayne Gorbea Y Su Conjunto Salsa- Dejame Un Lado
15. Belle & Sebastian- The Blues Are Still Blue
16. DJ Shadow- Building Steam with a Grain of Salt
17. Herbie Hancock- A River (feat. Corinne Bailey Ray)

Thanks to the guys that voted in for that last track, it was a close run thing between 'A River' and 'Watermelon Man' in the feature we never intend to try again; Herbie-Hancock-Off

These tracklistings will make a lot more sense when we get the past shows up on here, maybe not long now...

Cinematic Orchestra Film

G sent this film my way a while ago and I thought it should be shared again, its incredible.
It's a really original music video over two of cinematic orchestras bestest songs, To Build a Home and Breathe. do check it out.
This link also has an interview with the director to explain the deal in more detail

The group involved, Up The Resolution, has also done a really cool video for Coldcuts 'Sound Mirrors', worth searching for

LATEST SHOW- after all the slot upheaval

Well we've seen some major drama this week. We turned up to do the show in our new slot on monday. Out of nowhere a rival crew of radio bandits turned up and claimed the slot was theirs! controversial. Things escalated very quickly. Before we knew what was happening we were battling with machetes and pikes. I lost an arm & G will never walk again.
It was about then that we realised not only were we pacifists but also they might actually have the moral highground, since they've had their show on monday since september.

So we took it to the negotiating table and found there was a free slot on tuesday 11pm-12+
Find us there from now on!
We had a good time on tuesday night anyway, the tracklisting looked like this:
1. Youngblood Brass Band- March
2. Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire- Running from Love (feat. ADL)
3. Lemon Jelly- Elements
4. Flevans- Hey Mr. Bundle
5. The Whispers- Needle in a Haystack
6. Milez Benjamin- Hold Your Head High
7. Natural Self- In the Morning
8. Pete Rock- Can't Wait
9. Sia- Breathe Me
10. Sigur Ros- Saeglopur
11. Mr Scruff- Spandex Man
12. Simone- Tudo Que Voce Podia Seo
13. Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings- Answer Me
14. Hope of the States- The Black Amnesias
15. All Good Funk Alliance- Top Brass
16. Ryan Adams- Oh My God, Whatever, etc.
G promises he will get this listen again thing working soon but neither of us have much of a clue. it shouldn't be long
